I've been working on my courtyard drawing. Doing the shading on it. Next I'll finish up the art room drawing. I may take stuff home to shade them so I can make sure and get them done.

These are amazing charcoal drawings. They are AMAZING! They have so much detail. A couple of them are kind of creepy.. but I do like them a lot!

Finished charcoal mask drawing

So this is my final product. I think I spent to much time on my first mask, so I really didn't have time to finish this until now. I think it looks alright, I could have done better, but it's okay for now.

Finished pelvis ink drawing/ paintiing

So I finished the otherside. I forgot to post my picture, but I did finish it a while ago. I really like how this turned out. I didn't really want to paint inside where the white is because I think that would defeat the purpose of trying to make the pelvis and legs "pop."

Self portraits....

So these are my self portraits so far... I really do not like them at all. I ALWAYS make the eyes way too big. 

Pelvis ink drawing...background

I kind of just put a bunch of randomly placed dots in blue, green, and purple all over wet paper. After it dried a little, I wet my paintbrush a little and just ran it over the dots outwards to help the skeleton kind of "pop." I do like how it's turning out. It looks like it's sort of blurry, so again, you focus more on the skeleton. 

Black and white drawing blog

I really love the drawings of the mostly black drawings. I guess it is still black on white paper, but it just looks really dark and creepy to me, which I love. (:

Pelvis... brush & ink drawing.. thing

So we finally started the correct thing we are supposed to do. I think it's starting to look good. I think I am trying too hard to make it look "perfect" though. 

Large paper started

So we started it on the huge paper. I think I needed more practice before I finish it. That's why there is a smaller sheet on the right side of the picture. 

More ink work...

So I guess we were supposed to shade with diluted ink. Not crosshatching. I kind of went over the shading I already had with the diluted ink... I like how the color of the skeleton looks.

From today and last Friday

This is what we did today. We will eventually draw a whole skeleton on a large piece of paper. For now we are just practicing sections.

This picture is from what we did last week. It is supposed to look like it is stormy in the ocean. 

Homework assignment

So this is my homework assignment for this week. I think it looks much better in a picture than in person, but yeah. I am pretty happy with the finished product. I sketched in pencil before going over it with ink.

Whoops...

So I completely forgot to take a picture of what we did today, but on Monday I will. We did another landscape with the ink. Mine was actually a seascape and I really liked how it turned out. For homework we have to draw a bowl of eggs, so I'll get that done probably Sunday.

NEW PROJECT... Working with ink

This is from Wednesday. We didn't start working until then because Reid and I had FPS competition on Tuesday. We were practicing drawing with calligraphy pens and ink. 

This is from today. We were just figuring out how ink and water worked and stuff on paper. 

MIDTERMMMM

This was the first thing we had to do in this class. I don't really like it, but It was a quick drawing.. so I didn't expect to be happy with it.

This was the first real project we had in this class. I do like how it turned out, I think it looks pretty good.I I do wish the shading was better, but I'm pretty happy with it. 

This was my shoe project, but I found that shoe had too many details, for me just starting this class. I went with a Van, and that is the next picture..  

I do like how this turned out, actually. None of us, except Autumn realized we were supposed to draw multiple shoes... but yeah, so there's that project. 

These two pictures were drawing a still life of these white statue-type things surrounded by sheets, and with a strong light source shining from the right side. I'm honestly not a fan of these drawings, but they're better than my original product of themI did not realize that we were supposed to draw them apart from each other so we could put them on colored paper, but maybe I can try to do that some time later. I think for what I did, it looks pretty good.  

This project was extremely difficult for me to do. (And charcoal is VERY messy!) I think it looks okay, hopefully I can finish it before the end of the semester. 

Obviously, this is unfinished, because there aren't even any tables! This did help a lot with my drawing of the courtyard... which is the following drawing. 

So this is my drawing of the courtyard. It isn't finished either (I spend to much time trying to perfect every little piece I work on in a certain amount of time/:) 

Honestly, I hate this. It was a homework assignment that I forgot about, So, I had to do it on a weekday (While I was piled with tons of other homework) so it didn't turn out how I wanted. If I could do it over again, I definitely would, but it's okay I guess.

I realize this looks really bad... But I needed to get it done. So here is the front of the high school...  

Courtyard drawing...

These are from Tuesday, Wednesday, and today. The last one looks like white paper (it's not). And I fixed my trees. Should have done those first, all the work I did on the school is basically covered by the trees now.

Midtermmm

We started a new project for our midterm. It is drawing the courtyard by the art room. I forgot to take a picture, but when I get to my class, I will take a picture before I begin working on it again.

I added more things to it. It's hard to get the items on the walls and against the walls to look right. I'm having trouble with that bookshelf on the left side.. may ask for help..

Perspective Drawing

We started a new project in dual credit drawing. It is a perspective drawing of the art room. I'm having a hard time getting everything to proportion, but I think I finally got everything pretty good.

started drawing the second mask

I got tired of trying to make the first mask look perfect, so I decided to move onto the second one. If I have time later, I can go back to make the first look better. This mask is WAY easier to draw than the first one.

I tried to make it better, but I think it just looks worse. The nose turned out okay, but everything else just isn't right. I tried to highlight where the light was hitting it the most, and to shade it better.

I really do not like how this is turning out...

I think it looks better in the picture than in person... but I just really don't like it at all. I am trying really hard to make the shading and highlighting better.. hopefully I can.

Lots of work to do...

Honestly not happy with how this project is coming along. I know that that affects how well I do on it, but I just can't get it to look good.

This project is definitely a lot harder than I first imagined. I think my drawing looks alright, but It definitely needs a lot of work.

More progress on mask drawing

I did a little bit more shading and highlighting on the face. Also started to make the patterns on the headpiece. I think it'll look great when It's finished, but for now, It's just a work in progress.

Day of the Dead practice makeup

Practicing this makeup on my sister to perfect it for Halloween. So excited. Turned out pretty good I think.

Mask drawing- charcoal

Continued work of the Mask drawing on charcoal base. Have part of one mask done. Need to finish the rest of this one and then do two other ones and a background. There were lines on the paper from where it got folded or something.. so that's what those are. Kind of throws off the whole thing. Not sure if I'll be able to finish it this week, but I'll try as hard as I can. PSAT tomorrow so I'll miss this period.
